Gold Prospecting Tennessee

About Us:

My name is Tim LeGrand.  I am a gold prospector, and love getting under water with my dredge. Frankly I can't get out nearly as often as I want. Work has to come first, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

My main business is website hosting.  I am the owner of ;
http://superior-host.com
We host websites for personal sites, as well as small to medium businesses, and a few large businesses.

However, since I have picked up on the hobby of gold prospecting, I thought, I could make this a bit of a side business, and perhaps recoupe some of the costs of the hobby.  Who knows, some day, I may hit a real nice pocket and make a real nice profit.

Ok, I found my nice pocket, and did get a lot of nice gold from it.  Not anything to retire on, but more than enough to make my day.
I found a decent sized hole that has up and down stream sides that are straight up and down.  Once gold falls in, it is there until removed.  Well, I got to be the one to remove it.

There were a lot of nice flakes, i mean really large ones, not just the specs..  and nuggets too.  The largest nuggets were right at a pennyweight each.
The total amount of gold was less than an ounce, the one day.  Then i finally got to go back and did quite well again.

There is still 2/3rds of the hole left to go, but I sold me dredge to help fund the prospecting store.  So it is on hold for a while, but I know where it is when i can get back to it.  Hopefully I will clean it out fully this winter, and be off to find more great gold along the river.

TNGold.com was created for a couple of reasons.  We want to help others learn to enjoy this great outdoor hobby of prospecting for gold, and to sell gold and gold panning concentrates that we have dredged from Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina as well.
For prospectors that buy concentrates to collect gold from each state, please note we will mark every bag of cons as to where they came from, so you can complete your collection.
Any of our Ebay.com gold auctions will list where that gold is from.
I will not salt TN. gold concentrates with georgia gold, etc.

Grown beyond just dredge concentrates:

Now, the sales have grown to an all out prospecting supplies store, and we have gold and gemstone panning on site.

When we first opened, we thought we would buy our gold ore from Crissom mine, in Ga.  We bought 19 bags of their ore, and went through each bag.  We saw the amount of gold in them,, planned on using their ore, until we stumbled on some great, rich gold ore from just down the road from the store.
It is an actual mine, but not a gold mine.  The gold they are getting is just a by product, of their gravel pit. We do NOT buy gold ore from Crissom mine anymore.  That was a one time deal, before we even opend our store.

Currently, we have found a gravel company that mines near the Hawassee river, and we get their smallest gravel mix, wich contains pretty good gold. We use this for our gold panning ore, and have even seen several small nuggets, and plenty of pickers come out of the ore. We test each new batch we get, so we know how rich it is.
You will be pleasently supprised at how rich our gold ore is.

It works out great for us, and allows us to sell ginuine Tennessee gold ore.  We do buy gold from individuals prospecting in the area, and sometimes from other east coast states. Ga, Al, NC, SC. - All high purity areas of 22.5 to 23.5 kt.

We do add a small bit of gold in each bucket to make sure nobody will ever get a bad bucket of panning ore.  It would be bad if anyone ever got skunked....

I sure have seen some buckets that have made me want to kick myself in the rear for adding any gold..  some of them are down right packed with gold.  But that works out great for you!

We will make an inside area for winter time fun to continue.  You will be able to come in on weekends all year long, and pan gold, or search for gemstones.

By the summer of 2009, we will have on site gemstone cutting available.  We have had a lot of customers ask us to cut stones for them, and we haven't found a cutter that will come in to work for a few days a week.  So, we have decided, with help from a mine in NC, that we will be going to North Carolina over the winter on our days off, and learning the in's and out's of cutting gemstones.

We should have the equipment and training well before the business gets busy next spring.

We are already buying quality stones in bulk from around the world, so our customers will have a great time, and find some cuttable stones in nearly all, if not all, bags and buckets of gemstones.

History:
Tennessee has a long rich history in gold prospecting.  However, now days, not too many people are aware of this fact.  Tellico plains is along the Tennessee gold belt, and is the general area we go to with our gold pans, sluice, and our 3 inch proline dredge.

We sell our dredge concentrates to help fund our future prospecting plans, as well as our current endeavors.  Every bag of concentrates will come with our iron clad guarantee to have gold .

We will personally check all cons before they are dried and bagged for sale.  We know that a satisfied customer will come back, and tell others about us, and we want to make sure you will be very happy with our gold concentrates.
Every bag of our gold dredge concentrate, is Guaranteed to contain gold!

Future Goals:
In 2007, we plan to sell a lot of dredging concentrates, gold nuggets, pickers, and fines.

In April of 2008, we opened our gold prospecting store in Coker Creek, Tn.
We now carry a wide variety of gold prospecting supplies, rock hounding supplies, including tumblers, and grits.
We are a full line Keene, Proline, and Jobe, authorized dealer.
We can order any parts you may need, if we don't have them in stock, and can, and WILL save you money on your dredge orders!

Come to our on line store and look at ordering your next dredge through us.  From 2 inch, on up! 6 and 8 inch dredges will save even more. A lot more.  Call or email me for pricing if you don't see it on our site.

We are currently gearing up for our fall and winter schedule.
We are now closed on Weds. Until spring 2009.

We will be going to fairs with our panning booth, and doing gold panning and gemstones at the fairs.
We will be at the Dayton Ohio, and Gainsville Ga., GPAA Gold shows! Come show your support - Please.  :-)
Please watch the front page of our site for any store closings , as we plan to close on weeks we go to fairs.

As part of our goal is to help the Coker Creek GPAA Chapter, I will be donating 5% off the top, of all sales from our booths at the GPAA Gold shows.  We will also be selling the chapters new shirts at the shows, so you can get yours then, if you want one. 100% of the shirt sales go to the chapter - Always.

Please enjoy your stay at our site!
