History: Tennessee has a long rich history in gold prospecting.  However, now days, not too many people are aware of this fact.  Tellico plains is along the Tennessee gold belt, and is the general area we go to with our gold pans, sluice, and our gold dredge.  Well, the town of Coker Creek, is the place we go most, but it is 10 miles down Hwy 68 from Tellico Plains, and most of the creeks between the Tellico river, and the Hawassee river have gold in them.
